Green Capital Masterclass: Urban Air Quality

A Green Capital Masterclass on Urban Air Quality will take place on 28th-29th October 2014 at the Hilton Doubletrees Bristol Centre in Bristol, UK.

The masterclass will be opened by Mayor George Ferguson of Bristol and Mayor Morten Kabell of Copenhagen (Technical and Environmental Administration). Bristol’s partners, the Air Quality Management Resource Centre at University of the West of England, have secured a range of high quality speakers from across Europe which will include:

  • Steen Solvang Jensen, Aarhus/DCE, Air Quality Expert for European Green Capital Award
  • Alan Andrews, ClientEarth, EU legal challenges
  • Brian Hansen, Copenhagen, Cycling in Copenhagen
  • Martin Lutz, Berlin, Berlin’s LEZ
  • Carlo Trozzi, Techne Consulting, Air Quality Management in ports

The masterclass will comprise of an interactive session to capture the expertise of delegates and speakers and inform a collective report to the EU Commission on the experiences and opportunities for air quality management in European cities.

The event will bring together policymakers, air quality experts, academics and practitioners to identify and explore the current challenges in the field.
