The general aim of the annual Ljubljana Forum is to promote opportunities for future development of cities and towns in South-Eastern Europe. The objectives of this year’s forum will be to present the ‘Smart City’ concept, Governance Challenges, Financial Support Mechanisms and Industry Solutions of the Smart City, as well as to allow attendees to connect, learn and conceive new projects and move forward with their plans.

‘Smart City – Empowering Cities & People’ will be held in the beautiful Ljubljana Castle. Speakers will include the innovative mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Jankovic, Prime Minister of Slovenia, Miro Cerar and Network Director of Low Carbon South West, UK, Amy Robinson. Both days will be divided into several sessions, with a workshop, dinner and opportunity to network at the end of the first day. Conclusions from the whole forum will be discussed at lunchtime on the second day.

The ‘Ljubljana Forum Future of Cities Award’ will be presented to the group demonstrating the most innovative good practices in the field. Applicants include public authorities, industries and community organisations, among others.
