Livable Cities Forum

2nd – 4th April 2014, Vancouver, Canada

The Livable Cities Forum will take place on 2nd – 4th April 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver in Vancouver, Canada.

 During the conference participants will:

  • Learn from experts by attending a series of high calibre plenaries, panel discussions, presentations, and workshops.
  • Explore the City of Vancouver through local study-tours and see how the City’s bold initiative, Greenest City 2020, addresses environmental challenges, supports the local economy, and fosters healthier people and places.
  • Connect with leaders and innovators from across North America to discuss the importance of preparing for climate change at a local level.

The Livable Cities Forum is hosted by ICLEI Canada together with ICLEI USA, Simon Fraser University, and the City of Vancouver. These partners are working to create more liveable cities both in their own backyards and across Canada and the US.

The European Green Capital Award grew out of an initiative launched by 15 European cities and the Association of Estonian Cities on 15th May 2006 in Tallinn, Estonia. The selection of a city to be awarded the European Green Capital is assessed by an Expert Panel on the basis of twelve environmental indicators. Climate change: mitigation and adaptation is one of the 12 indicators.
