Green Week 2015

Green Week 2015, Europe’s biggest annual conference on environment policy will take place on 3rd – 5th June 2015 at the Egg Conference Centre in Brussels, Belgium. The theme of this year’s conference will be nature and biodiversity. Green Week 2015 will focus on the benefits we receive from nature, and the framework in place to protect it.

During Green Week attendees will have the opportunity to go to a number of sessions and workshops on the following topics including:

• Reconnecting with nature and biodiversity: thinkers and doers
• From the Iron Curtain to the European Green Belt
• Best practices on communication & awareness-raising in nature & biodiversity
• Healthy ecosystems as drivers for sustainable growth

As part of Green Week 2015, the European Commission will officially launch the 2018 European Green Capital Award and the 2016 European Green Leaf on 3rd June from 13:15 until 14:15.This event will officially open the next round of the competition, inviting cities from across Europe to apply for the prestigious European Green Capital title. The European Green Leaf is a new initiative aimed at cities with a population between 50,000 and 100,000 inhabitants.

Green Week is open to the public and participation is free of charge. Participants from government, business and industry sectors, non-governmental organisations, academia and the media are encouraged to attend.
