A workshop on ‘Green jobs for social inclusion’ will take place on 20th October 2015 in Brussels, Belgium. It has been organised by EUROCITIES and will run for two hours during the forum on ‘Cities promoting Inclusive Labour Markets’. It is possible to attend either the full forum or the workshop only, whichever is desired.

20 10 15 Green jobs for Social Inclusion

The workshop will explore methods on how to encourage and facilitate access of disadvantaged people into employment within the green economy. Those in attendance will include EU policy makers, community group representatives, national, regional and local authorities, researchers, trade unions and business associations. EUROCITIES representative Michael Kilnkenberg will chair the workshop; presentations will be given on various projects and a panel discussion will follow. The event will be communicated in English.

The green economy has continued to grow in recent years, despite the economic recession. This relatively new industry has the potential to create more jobs, including those for people from vulnerable backgrounds. By becoming employed in the area, such individuals not only gain valuable skills and knowledge, but contribute towards the fight against climate change.

The event is free to attend, but registration is required. For more information and to register, please visit the event website.
