European Forest Week 2013
9th – 13th December 2013, Rovaniemi, Finland and across Europe
From 9th - 13th December Rovaniemi (Finland) will host European Forest Week 2013. The event will be held during Metsä 2013, the joint session of the UNECE Committee on Forests and the Forest Industry and the FAO European Forestry Commission. Events in Rovaniemi and across Europe will highlight the contribution that forests, their products, and services make to a sustainable and green economy.
Forest-related celebrations will include: the European Forest Week/END in Güssing forest (Austria) - an electricity-free weekend retreat deep inside the forest where fire wood, a hot oven and heated discussions about the surrounding forests will be in full supply; and the Forest-based Sector Technology Platform’s (FTP) High-level Group Meeting in Metsähallitus, Belgium.
These events will provide a unique opportunity to raise the visibility of the forest sector and highlight the multiple ways forests contribute to our daily lives. If you wish to participate in this event please click here.
