Experts from Europe – policy makers, researchers and practitioners at EU, national and local level – will be gathered at this international event. Key-note speakers will include Antonio Borghi, an Italian URBACT expert, Elena Dimitrova, an architect and researcher from SofiaUniversity and Alfred Middelkamp from the Municipality of Assen in the Netherlands.

The conference will examine the different aspects of energy efficiency in the built environment through interactive workshops. Themes to be addressed include energy service companies, social housing, historic buildings, and energy efficiency throughout Europe. On-site visits to two energy efficiency projects in Oradea, and presentations of good practices from across Europe, will demonstrate both the concrete instruments and the policies for further strengthening that can be used to strengthen the effectiveness of local energy efficiency actions.
