The EU Energy Challenge Summit

The EU Energy Challenge Summit will take place on 20th November 2014 at the Square Brussels Meeting Centre in Brussels, Belgium. The EU Energy Challenge Summit aims to examine how Europe can best stimulate and deploy the innovations it will need for a sustainable, affordable and secure energy sector.

During this year’s Summit a number of high level speakers will be in attendance to discuss EU energy innovation policy including:

  • Cheryl Martin, Director, Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E)
  • Sir Mark Walport, Government Chief Scientific Adviser (GCSA) and Head of the Government Office for Science, UK
  • Dame Ann Dowling, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Cambridge
  • Humberto Delgado Rosa, Director, Mainstreaming Adaptation & Low Carbon technology, DG Climate Change, European Commission
  • Joan MacNaughton, Executive Chair of the World Energy Trilemma for the World Energy Council, senior research fellow at the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies

The Summit will provide a platform for international energy experts from government, academia and industry to debate the way forward as a new European Commission and Parliament are taking office.
