Embrace the Water

Embrace the Water will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 12th-14th June 2017. The conference, aimed at urban planners, city managers and professionals in the water sector, will examine sustainable water management in cities. Gothenburg provides an ideal setting for Embrace the Water. Being a port city, water has always been an important consideration in Gothenburg’s urban planning.  Like many other cities, managing floods and providing clean water for its citizens are growing challenges in Gothenburg.

  2. Managing Uncertain Futures: Planning under uncertainty, adapting to climate change, enhancing cities resilience to flooding and water scarcity risks;
  3. Regenerative Water Cities: Regenerative water services for sustainable use and management of water resources;
  4. Engaged Community: Transdisciplinary water management engaging the community.

The conference will take place in the Clarion Hotel Post, a former historic post office near Gothenburg’s waterfront. You can find more details on the venue here.
