Supporting cycling for liveable cities

Supporting cycling for liveable cities will take place on 1st October in Venice, Italy. The conference will focus on different ways to increase the share of cycling in the modal split of cities. The conference will bring together elected representatives and technical staff from cities and mobility experts from across Europe.

During the conference a number of topics will be discussed including:

  • How to develop a bicycle account and an urban cycling strategy.
  • How to calculate the costs and benefits of cycling and the economic impact of a larger cycling share in cities.
  • How to set up and upgrade a successful public bicycle scheme.
  • What are the health impacts of cycling?
  • What role can bicycles play in urban logistics?
  • Which innovative marketing approaches support a positive bicycle culture in cities?

This conference is organised by ManagEnergy. ManagEnergy is a technical support initiative of the Intelligent Energy – Europe (IEE) programme of the European Commission which aims to assist actors from the public sector and their advisers working on energy efficiency and renewable energy at the local and regional level.
