Baltic Urban Forum for Smart Cities

The Baltic Urban Forum workshop will take place on the 19th & 20th January 2014 in the Hotel London Conference Hall, Tartu, Estonia.

19.01.14 Baltic Urban Forum for Smart Cities

The workshop will discuss  the proposed “Baltic Sea Region Urban Forum for Smart Cities”, an initiative conceived by the Union of the Baltic Cities in collaboration with the Baltic Development Forum and the City of Turku The aim of this new forum  is to help  urban areas in the Baltic Sea Region move beyond “pockets of smartness” and become genuinely “smart”,  It is due to be launched in June 2014.

European Green Capital Award

European cities striving to become green and sustainable are constantly faced with challenges. The European Green Capital Award aims to highlight and reward cities’ efforts at overcoming these challenges. The importance of sharing information and supporting best practice between cities is paramount to a sustainable future, and is something that the European Green Capital Jury looks at, when choosing a city to be awarded the title.
