Applicant Workshop 2016

Following the success of the 2015 Applicant Workshop last year, the European Green Capital Award Secretariat will host an Applicant Workshop for potential applicant cities on the 30th August 2013 at the DG Environment offices in Brussels.
The workshop will provide advice on how to successfully complete the 2016 Application Form and will also discuss the benefits of being a winning city and being an applicant city, the use of social media and also launch the Good Practice report. The workshop will also include an overview of the new EGCA Community, an initiative of Copenhagen (European Green Capital 2015) and allow cities sufficient networking and questions time.
The day will kick off at 10.00 am CET with a brief introduction to the Secretariat, explaining their role, and what they can do to help applicant cities. This will be followed by a brief overview of the benefits of being a Green Capital from previous winners of the Award. The Secretariat will then talk participants through the process of filling out the online application form and give an overview of the guidance note, this will include advice on how to complete a successful application including case studies from previous applicant cities.
One of the previous winning cities will also present on key elements of their successful bid that they believe were critical in securing their win. There will be a chance for delegates to have question and answer sessions throughout the day. There will be a session on the role played by social media and the advantages it gives to the overall strategy employed by winning cities.
The day will conclude with sharing the Good Practices across Europe report from the 2015 cycle. This will highlight what the cities who applied for the 2015 award are doing and doing well.
