10th ITS European Congress

The 10th ITS European Congress will take place on 16th-19th June 2014 at the Messuaukio Exhibition and Convention Centre in Helsinki. The congress has become one of Europe’s largest events in Intelligent Transport Systems and Services. The theme of this year’s congress is “ITS in your pocket – proven solutions driving user services”.

Discussions will focus on sustainability, multimodality, innovation and consumers. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a varied programme of sessions including;

• Increasing confidence in electro-mobility
• ITS for energy efficency
• From smart cities to smart citizenship
• Towards zero emissions

The congress will provide an opportunity for a number of high-level decision makers, leaders, technologists, and researchers to debate innovative transport solutions and underlying technologies in Europe.

The European Green Capital recognises the impact that well planned sustainable transport networks can have on the overall environment of a city and has listed local transport as one the 12 indicators. Effective sustainable urban transport means healthier citizens, more accessibility, improved safety, more efficient and cost-effective transport of people and goods.
