The Salon Bois Energie Exhibition is an annual exhibition that gives coverage to the entire wood energy chain. The exhibition area is perfectly organised to reflect this chain of activities. At the arrival, the forestry and wood fuel production machinery is showcased. Once inside the centre, the visitor can follow the chain through institutions and associations, industrial and local authorities, medium and small scale boilers and on to domestic heating (stoves, fireplaces, ovens, cookers) interspersed with wood fuel suppliers and related press.

The four-day event allows stakeholders involved in wood energy to gather, do business, exchange views on relevant issues and to learn from one another. Now in its 14th year, the Salon Bois Energie exhibition expects to welcome 15,000 visitors through its doors and will attract more than 350 exhibitors from around Europe (the updated list of exhibitors can be found on the Bois Energie 2013 website).

A rich programme of parallel events will be staged during the exhibition including international conferences, study tours, outdoor wood fuel machinery demonstrations, and innovation awards for professional visitors and weekend programmes for the general public.

20th – 21st of March 2013, Nantes, France

The Biogas Europe event was first held as a conference in 2010. As part of the evolution of the event and following the success of previous events, an international exhibition and various study tours will run in parallel with the two-day conference.

The first day of the conference will provide the attendants with an overview of the biogas sector in France as well as an impression of the biomethane sector and its application as a key aspect regarding the future development of biogas throughout Europe.

During the second day of the conference, a high-level session will explore the key topics regarding the role that biogas and wood energy can play in the upcoming energy transition. Moreover, throughout the second part of the day, a discussion of the wide range of innovation in production and usage of biogas and digestate will be held by the international speakers.

The European Green Capital Award aims to encourage cities to commit to ongoing and ambitious goals for further environmental improvement and sustainable development. The selection of a city to be awarded the European Green Capital Award is assessed on the basis of twelve environmental indicators assessed by an Expert Panel and energy performance is one of these indicators. Nantes, France is hosting this event as part of its year as the 2013 European Green Capital.

Further details on the conference speakers and programme are available on the Biogas Europe website.
