Webinar on Energy Performance Contracting

13th November 2012

The Covenant of Mayors is organising a series of webinars on Energy Performance Contracting (EPC). The series will being on the 13th of November and experts from the field will make presentations on experiences in their municipality.  Roman Doubrava from Directorate-General Energy will present the recently launched EPC campaign. The signatory municipality of Oskarshamn in Sweden will speak about its cooperation with Schneider Electric in the refurbishment of public buildings such as the city hall, schools and child care centres.

Buildings account for 40% of energy consumption in the EU. There is a significant potential for reducing this consumption. Cities entering the race for the European Green Capital Award are all encouraged to seek innovative ways to reduce energy consumption and to maintain sustainable buildings. Similar to the European Green Capital Award, the Covenant of Mayors focuses on the important role of local government in ensuring that building energy performance targets are met.

This webinar will focus on the potential of EPC and examine case studies to see the success to date. The webinar will be in English and participation is limited to an estimated 100 people.
