European Forum on Eco-Innovation- Scaling-up sustainable construction through value chain innovation.

The importance of Eco-Innovation is paramount to a sustainable future, and is something that the European Green capital looks at, as part of the 12 environmental indicators on which applicant cities are assessed.

Vitoria-Gasteiz, the 2012 European Green Capital, has focused on Eco-Innovation as one of the foundations of its future, and believes that “Green is Capital”, highlighting that in this time of economic crisis, it presents us a great opportunity to generate jobs.

The 12th European Forum on Eco-Innovation will examine what kind of added value eco-innovation can bring to the construction sector; how eco-innovation can transform the industry’s supply chain; how to communicate these benefits to public authorities, construction professionals and building owners and a review of the opportunities and challenges as part of a sustainable construction value chain. It will gather together key players from business, academia, finance, policy and green groups.
