Green Week

On Thursday, the 24th of May, between 14.30 and 16.00, representatives from the current European Green Capital, Vitoria-Gasteiz, from the 2011 capital, Hamburg and also from the Committee of the Regions will showcase integrated and sustainable water management, including local actions that link water management and energy efficiency. The discussion will focus on cities that are leading the way with the sustainable management of water resources.

On the 29th of June, one of the 3 shortlisted cities will be crowned the 2014 European Green Capital. The ceremony will take place in the beautiful Palacio Montehermoso in Vitoria-Gateiz, Spain, the European Green Capital for this year. The shortlisted cities are Bristol, Copenhagen and Frankfurt. Representatives from all over Europe will be in attendance to hear whether Bristol, Copenhagen or Frankhurt will take the title. Noteworthy guests will include Janez Potocnik, the European Commissioner for the Enviroment and Mercedes Bressso, President of EU’s Committee of the Regions.
