3rd September – 15th December 2012, Ljubljana, Slovenia

The stunning photographs have been captured by the cameras of renowned photographers working for the National Geographic Magazine.
The exhibition features 120 large format photographs in the out door setting of Jakopič promenade in Ljubljana’s Tivoli Park.
The main aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness of the importance of preserving our natural environment. As well as being organised in conjunction with the National Geographic the exhibition was also organised in order to support of the recent efforts of Slovenian ecologists in cleaning up the country from illegal rubbish dumping.
The exhibition will be running until the 15th of December so there is still plenty of time to get there and see these beautiful images in a beautiful setting!
Ljubljana is one of eight cities, from six countries, that will compete for the 2015 European Green Capital title. It will be Ljubljana’s third attempt to claim the title. The selection of a city to be awarded the European Green Capital for 2015 will be assessed on the basis of twelve environmental indicators:

Following these assessments, a number of cities will be shortlisted for the 2015 title. The shortlisted cities will be invited to present their action plans and communication strategies to the Jury.
Following these presentations the Jury will deliberate and the European Green Capital 2015 will be announced at an award ceremony in June 2013 in Nantes, the European Green Capital 2013..
