Every year the municipality of Haninge in Sweden arranges an Environment and Climate Day. This year the day serves to create inspiration and ideas around proactive action for the environment in the week before the world renowned Earth Hour. On the 28th of March 2012 Haninge’s Environment and Climate Day will play host to a range of local exhibitors related to environmental causes and action, a clothes-swap market, political seminars and speeches, the local Youth Orchestra, an ecological bake-off, a wildlife photo and film competition and much, much more.
The day is open to everyone, including local residents, businesses and municipal employees.
At 8.30pm local time on Saturday 31 March, Earth Hour 2012 will see hundreds of millions of people around the world cross borders of race, religion, culture, geography and society to unite in a single moment of contemplation for the planet and celebration of their year-round commitment to protect it.
