The Train of Ideas closed its doors for the final time last week after an extremely successful year travelling around Europe and welcoming over 70,000 visitors. The train travelled from Hamburg to 17 countries including Copenhagan, Malmö, Gothenburg, Olso, Zurich, Munich, Warsaw, Riga, Tallinn, Vienna, Barcelona, Nantes, Marseilles, Nantes, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Antwerp.
At each city the Train of Ideas posted a blog video of their experience. All these videos can be found on the European Green Capital YouTube Channel
The Train of Ideas exhibition, entitled “Visions for the Cities of the Future”, focused on the challenges of designing European cities that are sustainable, environmentally-friendly and attractive to live in. With more than 70 exhibits and 26 touch screens, the exhibition presented best practices from Hamburg and features exemplary projects from other European cities. The exhibition presented the topics of “Urban Development and Living”, “Mobility”, “Energy and Climate Protection”, “Nature and Urban Green”, “Resource Protection and Business” and “Consumption” in an interactive way. Visitors were able to see the city from various perspectives: personal, local, regional and global.
We would like to congratulate the Train of Ideas and all the work it has undertaken along it’s journey.
