On the 7th February Vitoria-Gasteiz will be holding its opening ceremony to launch its year as European Green Capital. The event will be attended by the Queen of Spain, The Mayor of -Vitoria-Gasteiz, Commissioner for the Director General for Environment of the European Commission, The State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment of the Spanish Government, the President of the Province of Alava and President of the Basque Country

To celebrate this event, the City launched a competition to find the 10 most environmentally aware citizens to be guests at the opening ceremony. Those who want to apply for the competition need to send in a photo or video of them showing their environmental commitment by the 2^nd February.

We look forward to seeing the photos and videos that are produced as a result of this innovative competition.
