The 8th Euro-Mediterranean Foreign Affairs Ministers Conference

Tampere on 27-28 November 2006

This conference reviewed progress on the implementation of the 5-year work programme adopted by the Heads of State and Government in November 2005 and outlined the priorities for 2007.

The Ministers endorsed the results of the 3rd Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference on Environment, held in Cairo on 20 November 2006 and welcomed the adoption of the timetable, which sets out the steps for implementing Horizon 2020, the Mediterranean depollution initiative.

They also underlined the importance of integration of environmental concerns into other relevant sectors in order to contribute to the development of sustainable production and consumption across the region.
