Mediterranean Environmental NGO Meeting

Cairo, 19 November 2006

The meeting was organised by MIO-ECSDE, RAED, AOYE and GWP-Med and was supported by the Finnish Presidency, the European Commission (DGENV) and UNEP/MAP. It was also held with the support and under the auspices of the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Amr Moussa and the Minister of State of Environmental Affairs of Egypt, Eng. Maged George.

Following the meeting, a statement (pdf, 23KB) was prepared and read to the Euro-Mediterranean Ministers of the Environment on behalf of the environmental NGOs of the region, in the 3rd Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference on the Environment that took place in Cairo on 20 November 2006.
