What does EMAS require?

Two specific points shall be addressed under the Training, Awareness and Competence section of EMAS:

1. A baseline training that covers the entire organisation, including the following issues
   • the importance of the environmental management system
   • the roles within the organisation in achieving and maintaining the EMS
   • consequences of deviations
2. A specific technical and skills training for individuals and units that are responsible for activities or processes that may create significant environmental impacts.
