Operational controlWhat is operational control?

Operational control is about carrying intention through to reality.

To gain sufficient operational control over the operations and activities linked with the significant environmental aspects, you have to look at why you do what you do and think of new ways of doing it.

That may be difficult, because many of the current operational controls will either be based on 'common sense' or have evolved over a long period of time. It is now that you will hear the cry 'But we've always done it this way'.

To ensure legislative compliance and conformity with your own stated environmental policy, objectives and targets, the relevant operational controls must be in place. 'We've always done it this way' is not reason enough to prevent change.
