The EMAS Environmental Statements’ Library
What is the Environmental Statements Library?
The Library enables users to consult online a growing number of examples of environmental reports (environmental statements) from organisations participating in the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
On these pages, organisations are offered an easy way to compare their environmental performance indicators to other EMAS registered organisations within their economic activities. Examples of graphical presentation of indicators and of a language directed to non-expert readers can also be found.
The general public is also able to access the Environmental Statements’ Library in order to find recent data on environmental performance from companies and public organisations registered under the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme.
Information on environmental performance of organisations can be used to improve transparency about their commitment to environmental protection. Most of all, the EMAS environmental statement offers one of the few sources for information independently validated by the external verifier and the government.
