Be-Smarter Network |
The Be-Smarter project, which was launched in January 2008, has been finalised successfully in 2010. The project provided innovative vocational training to more than 100 consultants in 5 Member States (Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany and Hungary) and supported the implementation of EMAS and/or ISO 14001 in approximately 140 small organisations many of them have become EMAS registered. |
Business support organisations or individuals willing to attend capacity building programmes or organise EMAS Easy coaching sessions should contact info@be-smarter.eu |
EMAS Easy capacity building project |
More than 200 consultants have been trained to EMAS Easy all over Europe during the last five years. EMAS Easy was typically facilitated by a consultant in clusters of 3-5 organisations. The experience has shown that the approach reduces the burden of paperwork and external costs and this makes it more attractive to SME’s. |

Modell Hohenlohe |
By grouping up to ten organisations into a “convoy”, the Modell Hohenlohe achieved the EMAS registrations of small and micro enterprises and agricultural farms. An external consultant guided the group to registration, and thus enabled the exchange of experience, thereby reducing external costs and determining comparable key figures. Small and medium-sized enterprises received financial support from the Ministry of Environment and Transport of the Land of Baden-Württemberg in Germany (up to € 4,000). The organisers are constantly looking for interested companies to participate. |
