The Ecolabel logo on Tissue paper tells you:

  • Reduced air emissions of sulphur and greenhouse gases during production

  • Decreased water pollution during production by reducing the emissions of chlorine compounds and organic waste

  • Reduced energy consumption during production

  • Reduced risks for human health, environmental damage or risks related to the use of hazardous chemicals

  • Use of recycled fibres or virgin fibres from sustainably managed forests

Excluded or limited substances (non-exhaustive list):

  • No chlorine gas used as bleaching agent

  • No softeners, lotions, fragrances and additives of natural origin that are classified as hazardous to the environment, sensitising, carcinogenic or mutagenic

  • No azo-substances

  • Limited use of formaldehyde, glyoxal and PCB for products which contain recycled fibres

  • Limited emissions of antioxidants and chemical oxygen demand to water

  • Limited emissions of sulphur oxides, phosphorus, nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide to air
