Site visits

Site visits are scheduled for the following dates:

  • on Wednesday 26 October 2016 from 09h00 to 12h30 and
  • on Friday 28 October 2016 from 13h00 to 16h00. Participants will be dropped either at the airport or back to the House of Blackheads.
The excursions will be conducted in English.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress according to the weather.

Each site visit is limited to 30 participants (except for the one on 26/10/16 which is limited to 50 persons). Bookings are managed on the principle of first come, first served. Please note that if there are less than 10 participants registered for a tour, the tour will have to be cancelled.

Wednesday 26 October 2016 from 09h00 to 12h30

Nature Tour: Viru Bog Nature Trail and Jägala Waterfall
Up to 50 participants

The Viru bog nature trail is situated within the Lahemaa Natural Park – one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Estonia. The trail is 3.5 km long, with a renovated boardwalk and an observation tower. The trail introduces the vegetation and terrain characteristic of the raised bog in Estonia.

The Jägala waterfall is the highest natural waterfall in Estonia, about 8 meters high and more than 50 meters wide.

Friday 28 October 2016 from 13h00 to 15h00

Medieval Old Town Walking Tour
Up to 30 participants

The Old Town of Tallinn has been astonishingly well preserved since medieval times and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Its narrow passages date back to 1154, when Tallinn was first recorded on a world map, and attracts visitors every year.

ICT Enterprises Tour: Skype Technologies and Starship Technologies
Up to 30 participants

Estonia is famous for its thriving IT sector. Participants will visit a number of enterprises that have originated from Estonia and have grown big by offering IT services for everyday needs. One such example is Skype that is widely known all over the world.

Green Technology Tour: Ampler Bikes and Skeleton Technologies
Up to 30 participants

Similarly to the ICT Tour, participants will visit several originally Estonian companies that apply innovative ideas to promote green technology and sustainable development.

Note that if the maximum number of participants is reached, we will put you on a waiting list. Please go to the registration desk the day of the event to check your status. You will be informed by email if you are on a waiting list. Thank you for your understanding.

On Friday 28 October 2016, on the way back of the ICT Enterprises and Green Technology Tours , all buses will stop, first, at the airport and then at the House of Blackheads. 

Participation is free of charge. Admission for the site visits, the EBAE Ceremony, the matchmaking event, the Official delivery of ETV Statements of Verification Ceremony and the Forum is FREE but registration is required. A common registration system has been created for all these events. Go to the Registration section if you want to attend one or all of them.
