Objective of the consultation |

Following the adoption of the Nagoya protocol on Access to genetic resources and Benefit sharing (ABS) on 29 October 2010, the Commission has undertaken steps towards its implementation and ratification by the EU. Within this scope the Commission is launching a consultation of stakeholders to explore the possible effects of the Protocol and to gather concrete proposals on the practical challenges of the implementation. |
