The Committee on Trade in Wild Fauna and Flora

The Commission is assisted in its work by the Committee on Trade in Wild Fauna and Flora composed of representatives from Member State Management Authorities and chaired by the Commission (Article 18 of Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97). The Committee will discuss the elaboration and adoption of draft implementing acts and acts adopted via the regulatory procedure with scrutiny pursuant to Articles 18 and 19 of Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97 as well as, where appropriate, to facilitate the adoption of EU positions at CITES meetings. The Commission will also continue to report the opinions and advices of the SRG and the Enforcement Group to the Management Committee, consistent with Articles 14(3)(c) and 15(3) of Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97.

The Committee meets between three and four times a year in Brussels.
