Work and reports of the TEWG

To enable swift and efficient work to be carried out, the areas of consideration were divided into four sub-areas: "Scope", "Authorisation", "Ethical review", and "Cost-beneft analysis and Severity classification". The TEWG was therefore split into four sub-groups, each dealing with one of the sub-areas. However, experts also had the possibility to contribute to the work of any other sub-group. The final reports of the sub-groups were submitted to the Commission at the end of November 2003.

It is important to note that some reports refer to a Commission CIRCA-site (on the Internet, with restricted access). The CIRCA-site was used by the experts for their detailed, in-depth discussions and exchanges of views. However, the main argumentation delivered to the Commission is available in the reports themselves.
