“Business, biodiversity & natural capital | Ambitions, risks & opportunities”
On 4-5 October 2017, the EU B@B Platform and the Global Nature Fund (GNF) joined forces to organise an international conference with the aim to tackle the challenge for businesses in integrating biodiversity and natural capital. Under the common motto “Business, biodiversity & natural capital | Ambitions, risks & opportunities” the conference brought front-runners and newcomers together with leading scientists, government officials and nature conservation organisations at the Nestle Competence Centre in Frankfurt, Germany.
2017 EU B@B Annual Conference – How to set an ambition level?
The fourth annual conference of the EU B@B Platform aimed to address as cross cutting theme the key question: How can businesses set an ambition level when integrating biodiversity into their activities? Should they focus on site level or supply chain measures? Should they adopt a more comprehensive Net Positive approach at site, product and/or organisation level? What can be a useful scale or metric and what models (“blueprints”) to use for the successful delivery of investable projects? These questions were explored through a series of concrete examples and discussions on the approaches available to businesses.
