National Competition in Bulgaria:

The annual Responsible Business Awards organised by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum reward companies with a remarkable record in the field of corporate social responsibility and encourage other business leaders to start or further develop socially beneficial activities. After ten years, this national competition has become an established celebration of ethical business behaviour, attracting prominent representatives from business, public authorities and the media.
As the only contest of its kind in Bulgaria, these awards continue to multiply their supporters each year. This can be seen by the constantly rising number of projects nominated, competing in five categories. One of the most popular categories is ‘Investor in Environment’. This recognizes companies pioneering environmentally friendly policies and products, and stimulating others to follow suite.

BBLF Annual Awards for Responsible Business 2012

The winners were announced at the official award ceremony on 27 February 2013, in the Sheraton Sofia Hotel. This year there were a record number of entries – 85 projects from 49 companies competed in the following categories:

• Investor in Community (winner 2012 - Balkan Mineral and Mining, a subsidiary of Dundee Precious Metal for the project “Ada tepe - history and present”,;
• Investor in Environment (winners 2012 - bTV Media Group for the project “Let’s Clean Bulgaria in One Day!”);
• Investor in Human Capital (winner 2012 - Mobiltel for the project „Work-Life Balance”);
• Investor in Knowledge (winners 2012 - Anubis-Bulvest for the project Digital Textbooks - digital versions of their textbooks for 1.-7 grade);
• and Award for Cause-related Marketing (winner 2012 - AVON Cosmetics Bulgaria for the project “From Love to Life – AVON against breast cancer”).

Around 300 guests, including general managers of Bulgarian and international companies, media, diplomats and government representatives attended the ceremony.
