TZW Abteilung Analytik - Water Technology Center, Germany
Dr Frank Sacher

Frank Sacher is senior researcher at TZW, the research institute of the German Gas and Waterworks association. Frank studied chemistry at Karlsruhe Technical University and has a PhD degree in Physical Chemistry. He joined the analytical department of TZW in 1993. Since then he works on the development of analytical methods for inorganic and organic micro-pollutants in water (e.g. metal speciation, bromate, pharmaceuticals, endocrine disrupting compounds) and lab-scale studies on the behaviour of micro-pollutants during drinking water treatment (e.g. biodegradation, oxidation, irradiation, GAC filtration). During the last decade, Frank Sacher was involved in many national and international research projects on emerging pollutants in the water cycle.

As a EUREAU representative, Frank Sacher will present the perspective of the water industry on emerging pollutants in the water cycle. He will propose actions to reduce the impacts of emerging pollutants in water resources.
