Peter Carter

Peter Carter is Associate Director of the European Investment Bank. He was educated at the universities of Bristol, London and Oxford. 1970-1984 he was a member of the UK Government Economic Service, working in the Dept. of the Environment and the Ministry of Overseas Development.

From 1985-date he has worked for the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg initially as a senior economist in developing countries and emerging markets.

In 1995 he was appointed EIB environmental coordinator and lead specialist on environmental policy and practices, and more latterly also on social assessment of projects outside the EU. He is currently Associate Director and Head of the Environment and Social Office.
