"Floopie", the flying fish - young children environmental awareness project - Project number 02/338329

Objectives:

The project intends to raise public awareness to environmental issues. The aim is to encourage young people, and indirectly the general public, to safeguard the environment by adopting an environmentally friendly behaviour. What this behaviour should be, is demonstrated by concrete examples. The project focuses on environmental problems related to water and air.

The main target groups of this project are households/families, but also the set of organisations young people deal with: youth organisations, kindergarten, environmental organisations, centres for the education concerning nature, etc.

Actions foreseen:

The project aims to adapt basic Floopie materials to the specific situation in the partner countries (including translation of the materials into 10 European languages) and to supply the partner countries with enough sets of these materials including two booklets "Floopie and the water" and "Floopie and the air"; a manual for adults/educators (accompanying both booklets), hand puppets, game "Dominoes", stickers with environmentally friendly tips, posters "water" and "air", video (with mother tape in sufficient quality to be broadcast on television).
