Indicators on the number of permits issued for existing installations
As part of its Action Plan on the implementation of the IPPC Directive, the Commission has asked Member States to report on the following issues:
- the expected total number of existing IPPC installations
- the number of existing installations where the permits have been reconsidered but not updated (not deemed necessary according to the competent authorities)
- the number of existing installations where the permits have been reconsidered and updated
- the number of new permits granted for existing installations
Regarding to permitting progress, the Commission carried out a follow-up assessment in the light of the progress made by Member States by the deadline of 30 October 2007 for all IPPC installations to operate in full compliance with the IPPC Directive. An additional assessment was carried out with reference to the situation as of 30 April 2008 (6 months after the deadline). The Commission will continue to closely monitor the permitting progress and to support all Member States in the implementation as underlined in the IPPC Action Plan. |
