Crossroads of Europe – Pavia 2012

"Crossroads of Europe" is an annual event highlighting places and routes in Europe associated with a coming together of different cultures.
The aim is to promote cooperation and exchange, and to raise awareness of the potential for a new kind of tourism.
Cultural and religious routes
This first year, the focus is on cultural and religious routes.
A conference and fair were hosted by the Italian city of Pavia – located at the crossroad of five cultural routes that once attracted people from all over Europe, united by their shared values.
These events gathered cultural associations, pilgrims associations, international organisations, national and regional authorities, tourist operators, travel agents and tour operators, specialised journalists and members of the public.
- Public conference: "Cultural and religious routes", 7 June 2012 - aimed at stimulating interest in pilgrimage routes and raising awareness of the need for sustainable tourism that is respectful of nature and cultural traditions.
- Fair 6-10 June 2012 - stands, exhibitions, photo & video competitions, cultural events, food tastings.
And specifically for small businesses, tour operators, etc.: B2B meetings, guided tours, info sessions and briefings.-
