Conference on the Calypso study: recommendations & conclusions - Mallorca (Spain) 10-11 June 2010

The Palma de Mallorca conference in June 2010 (in collaboration with the Spanish Presidency) presented the Calypso study main findings, its recommendations and conclusions, besides discussing the way forward concerning forthcoming initiatives relating to Calypso.
All tasks have been finalized by the consultants.
Amongst these is the " Compendium of Good Practices
[813 KB] " which is now available.
The Calypso meeting in Romania (May 2010) was very productive (Romanian Conference Site).
It was decided that the Commission could give added value by assisting Member States to study ways and means on how to strengthen their internal structures (including possible involvement of NGO`s and other stakeholders) and collaborate with other Member States on facilitating exchanges in the low season.
For this reason, the Commission intends to launch a call for proposals later on this year, following specific requests from participating stakeholders, as an intermediary step leading on to the demand-supply platform which has been elaborated already upon in the Calypso Brussels Meeting in March (to which you were also invited).
An exercise concerning the elaboration of criteria (sustainability and accessibility, amongst others) will also feed into the above initiatives accordingly.
