Directive 2000/9/EC on cableway installations

Directive 2000/9/EC relating to cableway installations designed to carry persons is a directive based on the New Approach & Global Approach. It was approved with the aim to ensuring the proper functioning of the internal market through the definition of essential human safety and health requirements, environmental protection and consumer protection requirements applicable to cableway installations, subsystems and their safety components.

This directive is in full application and therefore substitutes any conflicting national regulation as from the 3rd May 2004.

The provisions of Directive 2000/9/EC are implemented in the national law of each Member State of the EU, by the corresponding to national transpositions.
