Standardization: cableways

The Directive 2000/9/EC provides for the presumption of conformity with the essential requirements for safety components and subsystems of installations that meet the relevant national standards adopted pursuant to the Harmonised Standards, the references of which have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).

CEN (European Committee for Standardisation) is working on a detailed programme of Harmonised Standards covering all essential requirements. This work is being carried out in the technical committee TC 242. The majority of these standards have already been published.
