The Guide has been translated into the official languages of the EU. The translations have been checked by the authorities of the Member States, however only the English version has been checked by the Commission services. In case of doubt, the English version should be taken as the reference.

- interchangeable equipment assembled with lifting machinery for the purpose of lifting persons that is subject to Directive 2006/42/EC.
- equipment used for the purpose of lifting persons with machinery designed for lifting goods that is not subject to Directive 2006/42/EC.
