Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance (AVCP)
In order to ensure that the declaration of performance (DoP) for specific products is accurate and reliable, the performance of the construction products shall be assessed and their production in the factory shall be controlled to ensure that the products will continue to have the same performances.
This is achieved by applying a system of Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance (AVCP) for each family of construction product.
Five different systems are foreseen in the construction products regulation .
The European Commission establishes which system or systems are applicable to:
- a given construction product or
- family of construction products or
- a given essential characteristic.
In doing so, the Commission chooses the least onerous system or systems consistent with the fulfilment of all basic requirements for construction works.
The harmonised technical specifications (harmonised European standards and European Assessment Documents) include the technical details necessary for the implementation of the system of assessment and verification of constancy of performance.
