Key information for companies, especially SMEs

Are you producing or importing chemicals?

31 May 2013 was the second, very important deadline for registrants under REACH. All substances manufactured or imported above 100 tonnes per year had to be registered. For information on the outcome of the 2013 registration deadline, please consult "Registration statistics of the 2013 deadline (ECHA)" .

The third registration deadline for substances produced or imported in quantities between 1 and 100 tonnes per year is 31 May 2018. As it concerns low volume substances, high number of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) are expected to get involved in the registration process. The Commission is currently working on the implementation of the specific to SMEs REACH review recommendations, aiming to reduce the administrative burden of REACH to SMEs while maintaining their ability to fulfill the obligations they have under the Regulation.

Start now!
If you need to register by 31 May 2018, start preparing as soon as possible – it takes time to compile a registration dossier. Reserve adequate time, start now. Do not underestimate the work!
