Specific fees and charges - Product and process-orientated research and development (PPORD)
Which fees or charges are payable in connection with the PPORD exemption?
A fee is payable if you notify the Agency of a product and process orientated research and development activity with a view to obtaining an exemption from the obligation to register under REACH.
A charge is also payable if, after having obtained an exemption from the obligation to register, the applicant requests an extension (as foreseen under Article 9(5) of the REACH Regulation).
Why is the charge for an extension of a PPORD exemption higher than the fee for a PPORD notification?
The level of the charge for the examination of a request to extend a PPORD exemption is higher than the fee for the examination of a request because, in accordance with Article 9 of the REACH Regulation, the estimated workload of the Agency will be higher.
