Article 8(8) of the Directive requires that as a general principle, tests on biocides must be conducted according to the methods described in annex V to Directive 67/548/EEC and Directive 87/18/EEC relating to the application of the principles of good laboratory practice.
The Directive is managed by DG Environment.

    ANNEX II contains the information requirements for active substances
    • Point 6: Tests performed should comply with the relevant requirements of protection of laboratory animals… and in the case of ecotoxicological and toxicological tests, good laboratory practice, set out in Directive 2004/10/EC български (bg) czech (cs) dansk (da) Deutsch (de) eesti (et) ελληνικά (el) español (es) Français (fr) Gaeilge (ga) hrvatski (hr) italiano (it) latviešu (lv) lietuvių (lt) magyar (hu) Malti (mt) Nederlands (nl) polski (pl) português (pt) română (ro) slovenčina (sk) slovenščina (sl) suomi (fi) svenska (sv) or other international standards recognised as being equivalent by the Commission or the Agency*.
    • Tests on physico-chemical properties and safety-relevant substance data should be performed at least according to international standards.

* N.b.: No other international standards are recognised to be equivalent to GLP
