Study on REACH penalties

Study on REACH penalties (March 2010)

REACH baseline study

The REACH baseline study is a tool to monitor the new EU policy on chemicals - REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals) – and to set the baseline for it (July 2009).

Study on IT tools to assist the development of Chemical Safety Reports

The European Commission, in co-operation with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has carried out an Analysis and Design Study to provide industry with IT-tools to generate Exposure Scenarios (ES), Chemical Safety Assessments (CSA) and Chemical Safety Reports (CSR).

The results of the study:

The planned tools will be further developed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

Substance Identity in REACH - Analysis of Complex Substances

The review of REACH carried out by the Commission highlighted that ‘… the definition of substance identity (SID) and the determination of sameness of substances are some of the most challenging aspects of REACH’. In addition, the REACH review also highlighted, among other things: ‘the Commission, in liaison with ECHA, will gather further practical evidence on how to improve the basis for the identification of substances and determination of sameness. If appropriate, the Commission may propose measures, including implementing legislation’.

In this framework, DG Enterprise and Industry decided in 2013 to carry out a study with the intention to analyse these challenges and to try to bring some clarity to the issue.

More information about the project, the timeline and the place where to provide your views on the subject (REACH SIDC Project).
