Helpdesk preparations

Early in 2006 the European Commission initiated the SHERPER project (SME Helpdesks - Experts' Round Table planning their establishment for REACH) aimed, primarily, at identifying the best strategy for setting up a national helpdesk based on the needs of the SMEs.

The main input to the study was provided by a group of over thirty experts from Member States authorities, Euro Info Centres and industrial associations representing SMEs.

The final output of the project is a set of recommendations for setting up and efficiently operating REACH helpdesks. The final project report also contains a summary of best practices in providing advice to SMEs and a series of Euro Info Centre Case Studies.
