The 2007 Mid-term review of the Industrial Policy
called for actions so that the industrial policy contributes to sustainability and more sustainable production and consumption patterns.
3 Directorate Generals of the European Commission have been involved in the preparation of the Action Plan: DG Enterprise and Industry, DG Transport and Energy (Ecodesign and Labelling) and DG Environment (Sustainable Consumption and Production).
